DISP Courses

ECE 195 Image Science

Image Science explores the physical and mathematical structure of image acquisition systems, including focal imaging (optics), projection tomography (x-ray imaging), magnetic resonance imaging and RADAR. The course is intended for engineering undergraduates.
-

ECE 374 Optical Imaging and Spectroscopy

Optical Imaging and Spectroscopy describes analytic models of coherent and incoherent fields, develops sampling and coding strategies for optical sensor design and explores the limits of imager and spectrometer performance. The course is intended for graduate students in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science and Physical Sciences.

ECE 375 Lens Design

Lens Design develops geometric, diffractive and interferometric models of optical components and describes analytic and computational design strategies. Students in the course used CAD tools to design lens systems, filters and diffractive components. The course is intended for graduate students in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science and Physical Sciences.

ECE 376 Holography and Coherent Imaging

Holography and Coherent Imaging explores imaging using laser illumination. The course covers analog holography for information display, data storage and spectral filters, computer generated holography for display and digital holographic imaging. Speckle noise and computational coding for holographic systems are also discussed. The course is intended for graduate students in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science and Physical Sciences.
